For those of you who knew Dave when he was at St Mark’s before entering the ministry, it will be a shock to learn that he died on Monday afternoon.
Unfortunately I don’t have any details as to the reason, just got a message from John Bowman who had heard from his sister-in-law who lives in East London.
Then also got a message from Cyril Henley to say the funeral will likely be at the Methodist church in East London next Monday.
As I shall be away from Thursday morning, and on leave from tomorrow, my apologies, but I won’t be able to follow up on this to get more news.
Contact Cyril Henley at 082-856-8260. for further details. Blessings to you all, and sympathy in Dave’s loss,

My Dad had suffered from Blood clots on his lungs last year. He recovered a bit. He was then taken ill again. Finally on the Thursday before he died he asked for an ambulance to take him to the local hospital. He was made comfortable and then literaly just slipped away on the Monday.
ReplyDeleteHis last words to me on the Wednesday were that the English should have organised better drainage of their wicket - and then they could have played Australia. He then said he was tired and passed the phone back to my mum. It was their 48th wedding anniversary the last day I spoke to him.
And then my mother says it was time for him to go home.
We weren't able to make David's funeral, but I would like to pay tribute to this very special man, from whom I learnt, amongst other things, that being down-to-earth, speaking plainly and being a follower of Christ are not mutually incompatible.
ReplyDeleteLiz, Richard and Karen, Steven, Janet and Steve, Megan, Paula, Logan - our love and prayers are with you.
