3 February 2012.
Acts 20:35 I have shown you all things, that working in this way we ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
The deep need for people to meet Jesus and receive His healing is obvious when you start to meet with them both in and out of the church. Financial strain, family pressures, work commitments, security concerns is a driving force that is hurting, this hurt causes many to give up hope. In our struggle in life how well are we understood and we often feel nobody cares.
The role of the church is to a fellowship of caring people with compassion for others, ministered too by people are able and willing to love. Each of us should fit into this category, not because of extraordinary skill, but because we understand as we have experienced and even are still experiencing the struggle of life. So we reach out to other pilgrims on the road with us, helping when they stumble, waiting when they lag behind, but never leaving them on their own. We all need love and not condemnation and judgement.
Be encouraged today to give somebody hope who is on this road with you.
David
Point to ponder: Hope is putting your faith in God.
Question to consider: Do you instil hope in others?
