Born to be Saviour

12 December  2012

Matthew 1:20-21 But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

The purpose and life of Jesus had one plan and that was to fulfil that which He came to do, to save His people from their sins. In doing this His earthly life was lived in this purpose and this purpose was that of the Father, because of the Father’s love He gave us His Son. Every time we think of Christmas we should think of the greatest gift that God the Father gave us- His Son.

As we spend time in thought and preparation for Christmas let us give thought of God’s great love for each of us, and because of that we are saved from the consequences of our sins. Jesus was born to be saviour of you and I.

Be encouraged today to receive the blessed gift of Jesus in your life.

David

Point to ponder: Jesus is the only Savour of mankind.

Question to consider: Is Jesus your Saviour?
