Hebrews
11:5-6 By faith Enoch was taken up so that
he should not see death; and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now
before he was taken he was attested as having pleased God. And without faith it
is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe
that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
With God all things are
possible, but with man many things are impossible. It is impossible for us to
please men, no matter what we do there will always be somebody that has some
criticism, or a bad attitude no matter how good our intentions. Yet we are
drawn to please others and so build up a positive image of ourselves based on
how we please others, no matter how impossible it may be.
Yet when it comes to God it
is possible to please Him, we please God by believing that He exists and He
rewards us when we seek Him. It is that simple. As we live we need to ask
ourselves, ‘are we pleasing God by doing what we do, by saying what we
say?’ When we make a decision do we consider whether the consequence of
that decision will please God? It is bringing God foremost in what we do that
allows us to seek Him, to seek Him in every thing that is who we are.
Be encouraged today to
believe God exists and that we live to please Him.
David
Point to ponder: God exists.
