Philippians
2:9-11 Therefore God has highly
exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the
name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the
earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God
the Father.
The name that is above
every name is that of Jesus, and whether we like it or not or accept it or not
this will not change. Each and every person ever to have lived will be required
to acknowledge this and will bow down to Him and confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord. All creation in heaven and on earth will do this to the glory of God the
Father. Nothing ever created will be exempt.
As we look upon the world
today and even within our own lives we need to ask that question, is Jesus Lord
of all we are? Is He Lord of our bodies, our thinking, our
feelings? For where we find those places within us that have not yet submitted
to His Lordship, we find a rebellion against His will for us. It is in
obedience that we find submission and the more we submit to His will, the more
we are able to confess His Lordship within us. When He is
truly Lord, then we live to please Him and Him alone.
Be encouraged today to live
a life where Jesus is truly Lord of all.
David
Point to ponder: Jesus Christ is Lord of all.
