Romans 5:3-5 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.
For many people they live their lives without actually taking the time to think about spiritual things, they are living busy lives, work, home, entertainment, holidays whatever is the focus on seeking pleasure and security. Almost no thought is given to God or Godly things in a day, although every now and again a thought may rise in the mind, a twinge and then the busyness of business suppresses it. Yet, they do not realise that all that they have and all that they have is because of the love that God has for them, through His grace to all common men.
For others they live their lives in covenant with God, knowing that even if they fail, God will not fail them, for God has promised to them that He will never leave nor forsake them. This relationship with God is not based on materialism, but on the understanding of God’s promises to God’s people and then believing these despite all worldly opposition. Yesterday may have been a total failure, today is filled with the consequences of that failure, but tomorrow is filled with hope as we know that we over come the past. The past does not determine the future, we do through the hopes and plans that we have for all our tomorrows.
Be encouraged today to live with hope in your heart.
David
