Psalms 1:3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
Two years ago we pruned the avocado trees in order to reduce their height and so be able to get to the fruit more easily. The next year the rains were very heavy and the ground soaked for days causing two of the trees to die because of the excess water. This year the remaining trees are so filled with blossoms there seems to be no leaves, just blossoms. The fruit of the one tree is the butter avocado and the largest pear we picked weighed nearly 2kg and delicious.
So when one looks at nature and observes how it comes through adversity and is still able to produce fruit it is a true wonder. There were moments when we thought that we would loose all our trees, we thought they may never recover, we had little hope. Yet the tree just did what trees do, stayed rooted in the soil, survived and today filled with hope.
We have so much to learn from the things Jesus Christ has placed around us, nature and all its beauty, the trust of our pets, the smell of the flowers, the promise in the buds that God has not forgotten us. We have a hope for tomorrow and it rests in the promise of today.
Be encouraged today to take strength in your roots of life and look towards the fruit of tomorrow.
David
Point to ponder: Stayed rooted in Christ.
Question to consider: Where do you draw your strength from?
