Romans 14:1 As for the man who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not for disputes over opinions.
Sometimes when we meet with people we find that some people are weak in their faith. This weakness may be in many areas not only faith in God, and usually reflects in that person in different areas. So a person may have faith in Jesus Christ but have no faith that He will protect them when they go out at night. Faith is not throwing out common sense, but it does mean trusting that all will be well and that you can do things in faith.
We often hear a person say to another ‘where is your faith’ when they are challenged to do something, which is fine. But when they start to argue and dispute about it one needs to be cautious. So some people are computer illiterate and have no faith that they will ever learn that skill, others cannot drive and will never because they have no faith that they can.
It takes much patience, love and kindness to build up a person who does not believe that they are capable, they have lost faith in themselves over many years of disputes, judgement and criticism. As Christians we need to recognise this in others and even sometimes in ourselves and so begin to grow our faith with baby steps in regaining our faith in ourselves, in others and in God.
Be encouraged today to nurture others and encourage them to grow in faith.
David
Point to ponder: Faith must be planted in us for it to grow.
Question to consider: Have you faith you can do it?
