Colossians 3:12-13 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience, forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Of all the people in the world you are chosen, holy and beloved. We do not often think of ourselves in this way, as we may lack compassion, be occasionally unkind, sometimes filled with pride and lacking humility, impatient with ourselves and others, and expecting others to act in ways that support our own opinions. We moan about poor service, we complain about people we know and sometimes even those we do not. Every now and again we need reminding that we are God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, and forgiven by Him. All those that we meet are equally loved by God, and we should respect that, even though they may not even know that they are loved by God.
We cannot see how special others are unless we recognise how special we are, when we start to see ourselves in the way that God sees us, we then become what God sees. When we exercise and practise this fact that we are chosen and beloved of God, our attitude to life and to others changes accordingly.
Be encouraged today to recognise that God has chosen you, holy and beloved of God.
David
