Romans 1:19-20  For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown  it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely,  his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have  been made. So they are without excuse;
One of the things that struck me while away in Margate on a weeks break was to watch the waves and to experience the tides coming in and going out. In the distance a whale was spouting and the tail slapped the water, dolphins were also swimming close in shore. The experience and understanding that this is the way God had created, the order of the seasons and the nature is and should always be there to be enjoyed.
There is something supernatural within the natural and it is there to be seen by all who have the eyes to see it. When we understand that all this around us is ordered and ruled by the will of God, then we need to see ourselves as part of that order, and that we too are ruled by the will of God. When we reject that order and rebel against the will of God in our lives, we fail to see the supernatural within the natural and we loose something of the excitement of living.
When we go to church, we go to meet a supernatural God, with an expectation of experiencing the supernatural within our Christian faith. When Christians no longer expect to experience the supernatural, then Christians just become religious. We need to recognise that for Christians the supernatural is the normal expectation of faith in all we do and in all we experience.
Be encouraged today to expect to experience the supernatural.
Point to ponder: We worship a supernatural God.
Question to consider: Are you a supernatural Christian?

Welcome back David. Your devotionals were sorely missed.
ReplyDeleteToday's devotional touched me. I for one seem to have lost the "wonder" of being a Christian. We must just look around and see the greatness of God's universe and go forward in faith experiencing the supernatural on a daily basis.
