Formatting the newsletter

18 November 2010.

Numbers 22:28 Then the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?"

It is amazing to realise that the Lord tried to speak to Balaam, yet His format never got his attention, so the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and when the donkey spoke Balaam listened. Hopefully we too are able to change our format that we may listen and be listened too.

Today we are busy printing the Newsletter that hopefully you have all received and have been able to open. I have had a response that some do not have Microsoft publisher and as a result they cannot open the file. My knowledge of how to convert the file into another format is non-existent so please if you are not on our postage address list, please send me your address and I will post the Newsletter to you. Please also if possible put a copy at the church, maybe even on the notice board in the office?

In a way sending out the Newsletter shows us that even though people may receive it they are unable to read it, so it means nothing to them. In the same way one may suppose that people have bibles and just never open it because for some reason the programmes that they function by makes it impossible. We must then be able to reach them with God’s message in the format that they will understand, without changing the message, just the format. This way we show that we are able to meet them with the format that makes them able to understand. The message is more important than the format.

Be encouraged today to change your format in order to meet people where they are at.

David

Point to ponder: God’s message is more important than the format we present it in.

Question to consider: Are you willing to change your format?
