Men for the Master to hold first Retreat on 27th November 2010

Giyani and son at St Mark's ... big plans for Men for the Master

The men for the Master continue to have meetings every two weeks although at onestage the attendance was poor but we’ve since seen an improvement in this regard.

We made 28 name tags for members of the congregation in October. Currenlty the plan was is to make name tags for the W.A and Men for the Master members only. Session decided on Saturday that the project would not be extended to the whole congregation as it was felt that the provision of name stickers provided an ideal opportunity for members of St Mark's to meet with prospective new members at the door.

Perpetue and a family friends sang a hymn in French today for the congregation ... it was moving indeed.

The Men for the Master intends sponsoring a youth workshop in order to equip them with baking skills. This is, with the view to support the youth to create a sustainable way of raising funds through cake sales. As we would all agree, tea after church without cake is not as interesting.
This will also help the youth realize their role in the congregation and enhance their participation in the congregation.

On the 27th November 2010 the Men for the Master will hold its first ever retreat at St Mark's. We intend for the retreat to achieve the following:
-Review the Mission statement and objectives
-Take stock of the achievements made in 2010
-Draft a policy document that will culminate in the Men for the Master constitution
-Plan forthcoming events to draw the 2011 year calender

We will continue to encourage the participation of all men in our activities and intend to achieve all of our objectives in the year ahead.

Blessings,

Giyani Matampi
Chairman Men for the Master

  1. Hi M4M. Terrific idea around the cake baking. Margaret also needs groceries for the Christmas parcels. Perhaps the lads can help.

  2. M4M you are so great! Praise God that you are helping the Youth and Sunday School. It is lovely. Keep up good works, despite the evil work that try to stop you. But do not be discouraged. The strength comes from God.

  4. We need more people who can present the songs. Just to have different flavor.
