Romans 6:6-7 We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the sinful body might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. For he who has died is freed from sin.
So many people who are Christians struggle with the old self and as result they are still under the control of sin in their lives. They have not understood that a Christian must be crucified with Jesus Christ in order to die to self and then to be resurrected to eternal life. The problem is that all their prayers and gifting has a falseness about it as they are still under the oppression of Satan.
We need to die to self, a complete death so that what we were and what we want is no longer of any meaning in our life. What now becomes important to us is that which is important to Jesus, our old agenda’s need to be replaced with a new agenda. The sadness is that so many people amend theirs to suit their own perspective of a Christian lifestyle rather than throwing the old out and replacing it with the new.
Be encouraged to examine your agenda’s and to see if it is only a modified old one based on your own selfish needs.
David
Point to ponder: He who has died is free from sin.
Question to consider: Are you free from sin?
