Tomorrow's plans

17 January 2012

1 Corinthians 3:8 He who plants and he who waters are equal, and each shall receive his wages according to his labour.

Each of us are responsible for our own spirituality and we cannot expect others to take responsibility for this. In the same way each of us are responsible for our own provisions in regard to our plans for this year, next year and even our own pension plans. We do these things not because we do not trust God as our Provider but because we are required to work and plan for our next harvest. We plant the seed, but God makes it grow, in the same way we plan and God helps to make it come about.

Many people live their lives without consideration of the times when they are unable to work and afford a place to stay, they never invested in anything and often never invested in themselves. The consequence of this is that they have nothing to fall back on, this behaviour is seen in children, teens, adults and the aged. Often it is the same person that rebelled as a child, partied as a teen, avoided responsibility as an adult and ended up desperate in their old age, blaming everyone but themselves for their predicament. When throughout their lives they were told to work hard, stick it out, be responsible, they rejected all of this. How important it is to tell the next generation this so they do not make the same mistakes. In the same way there is a heaven and there is a hell, those that believe this and trust the word of God have no fear. But those that reject this live as if the consequences will ever affect them, until the day they face God’s judgement.

Be encouraged today to help others to help themselves.

David

Point to ponder: You get no harvest if you plant no seed.

Question to consider: Have you planned for tomorrow?
