Fear vs Faith

24 January 2012

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.

Fear is the opposite of faith, the more faith we have the less fear, the more fear we have the less faith. We also know that love drives away fear so the more we respond in love, the less fear we will encounter. So if we are filled with fear that we will not cope or that things will go wrong because they usually do then we are living in fear and not faith.

Fear is born out of the negative and faith is born out of the positive. When we are always involved with the negative we find ourselves becoming fearful of just about anything. This is very true about the world today, we are hearing very few positive messages. So when we have faith not only are we positive about the future we know that the future is going to be better than the past, because the future is in the hands of God. And God has promised to prosper us, to bless us and to love us, what better hope is there for those who believe God and trust Him?

Be encouraged today to be positive about tomorrow and so grow and build your faith.

David

Point to ponder: Faith overcomes fear.

Question to consider Are you faith filled or fear filled?
