God speaks

18 January 2012

Isaiah 44:17-18 And the rest of it he makes into a god, his idol; and falls down to it and worships it; he prays to it and says, "Deliver me, for thou art my god!" They know not, nor do they discern; for he has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, and their minds, so that they cannot understand.

Communication is very important no matter who you are or where you may find yourself. The message needs to sent out in regard to what is needed and required for us to live in community. There is a direct link through the word commune, with communication, community and communion, this is the place where each of us live and function. Many people do not understand this and then tend to isolate themselves from community with the result that not only do they suffer loneliness but the community is not complete because of their absence.

In the same way we need to understand that communication is often more than words, it is an attitude of expression of who we are. We use many forms of non-verbal communication and we learn from an early age how to understand this. This learning is an on-going process.

We believe in a God that speaks, that communicates with us and through us, and when we understand this we realise that we are in communion with Him, we are His community. It is necessary for us not only to listen for His voice but to also speak to Him in return, and we do this through prayer and the way we express ourselves in our daily life.

Be encouraged today to be in communion with God.

David

Point to ponder: God is no silent.

Question to consider: Are you communicating?
