Can Christians enter polygynous relationships? It not that simple

Norman Mangena and a former pupil, who is now a rising netball star ... Norman gives a big thumbs down to polygamy.

Polygamy has been very much in the news of late. Indeed the Zulu and other cultures embrace it as does the president of our magnificent country South Africa..This raised a number of interesting debates at church on Sunday, to the extent that we would like our readers to quote scripture in support of either case, "yes" or "no"

My Zulu friends are adamant that nowhere in the Bible does it specifically frown upon the practice  On the other hand there a numerous references to where key biblical characters have taken second wives to keep their bloodlines intact. And it's not that simple. Indeed a whole section of a key Christian web site which specialises in good answers to tough Biblical questions.

Giyani and Kefilwe Matampi serving tea in the Hall ... another "no" for polygamy.
