Dear friends,
It's official! The Men for the Master will be at the forefront of a clean up day, probably the first of many, at the church this Saturday. This clean up morning is open to anyone, who wants to assist. Just get to the church at around 09h00, pick up a black rubbish bag from the team and let's make the streets around our church beautiful. Thanks you Roger Tem for giving the initiative a boost when notices were read on Sunday and standing in so ably for our chairman Giyani Matampi, who was involved in that car accident on Saturday, but no hurt.
All the ladies got roses after the service ... that Roger Tem at the rear and Felix Agyei, were on hand to dole them out
And we are incentivising you diarise the clean-up day We will have the braai fires going for lunch and there's a bring and share to which all are welcome, particularly members of the Women's Association. So this will be a morning clean-up with lunch to follow at 13h00.
Giyani, did a site inspection of the church last weekend and he and members of Men for the Miaster come up with a comprehensive list of things that need to be done to whip our buildings into shape. Among the things that that he and team raised are:
A S Welsh Hall and surrounding buildings:
- The gutter on the roof of the flat above the hall is missing.
- There are water leaks in two of the rooms in the old church building, one of these is in the Sunday school.
- The wooden skirting in the gents toilet needs to be replaced.
- One of the heaters in the Hall does not work
- Two lamp shades in the Hall are broken.
- Three of the fluorescent strips in the Hall do not work.
- The carpet in the Sunday school needs to be replaced. The carpet tiles are lifting and pose a threat to the children.
- The area outside the Hall is in need of a serious clean-up.
The main doors need to be sanded and oiled.
Otherwise there are no immediate red flags.
But we need help. Can anyone, who has a gas braai or Weber, let us know so that we have enough fires for the braais. Please use the "comment" button below this article, particularly if you can bring a braai and clean up equipment..
